Operation Iron Chupa

Chasdei Naomi owns a beautiful events complex of four separate halls where an average of 60 weddings are held a month. The halls are rented out for private use and all proceeds go to support Chasdei Naomi’s wedding program for orphans where Chasdei Naomi pays for either a portion of the wedding costs, or depending on need, the entire affair.

With the recent war in the south, Chasdei Naomi enlisted the help of dozens of craftsmen in the huge logistic operation of completing and opening a banquet hall, in addition to the four halls (Armonot Chen) Chasdei Naomi currently uses for weddings. This hall was to be made available free of charge for weddings and other events for residents of the South.

The hall was only to be opened in February, but, in light of the security situation and the prohibition against holding events in the South, it was decided to find the quickest possible solution to make the hall ready and available free of charge to residents of the South who were forced to cancel their celebration due to the war.

Chairman Rabbi Yosef Cohen said that since the deterioration of the security situation Hasdei Naomi had received many requests for help in finding a solution for cancelled weddings. “Because the hall was not yet finished, we turned to a multitude of craftsmen for all the work that had not yet been completed. The response was amazing, dozens of professionals worked around the clock for several days so that weddings can already be held this week free of charge for residents of the South.”

In addition to the new hall, where weddings will be held in the evenings, residents of the South can hold weddings during the day at four other Hasdei Naomi Armonot Chen banqueting halls. Volunteers from the organization helped with phone calls to update the hundreds of guests to the change of venue. Celebrants were very grateful to the organization for its efforts. “It’s like a miracle that has happened at the last moment,” they said, thanking all those involved in the incredible work.
