School Supplies

Returning to school every September comes with its own childhood fears- worrying about not having a backpack or the proper supplies should not be one of them. Every year, Chasdei Naomi provides orthopedic backpacks filled with a hundred dollars worth of supplies for the entire school year to orphans of the neediest families across the country. Each child will find folders, notebooks, pencils, markers, and binders with the most popular cartoon characters tucked inside their bag. Last year’s project reached 600 students.

Winter Warmth

When temperatures begin to drop in October, families around the country bring out the radiators and winter coats from storage.  For many parents, the cold winter temperatures are just one more problem they can not protect their children from. Chasdei Naomi provides sets of heavy blankets, radiators, space heaters, scarves and gloves to 1,000 of the neediest families across the country .

Clothing

Over the course of the year, Chasdei Naomi provides 900 families with brand new and high quality clothing and shoes. These items also include suits for grooms and bar mitzvah boys as well as a set of jewelry for each orphaned bride.

Lev Naomi Hospital Visits

In Israel, holidays such as Purim are especially fun for children. The entire country is dressed up and candy is free flowing. But children who are ill and hospitalized can only watch from the windows as others have fun.

Until now! Now Chasdei Naomi brings the party to them! Jugglers, clowns, a magic show, make up artists, music, games, popcorn, candy, food stands and more tour the rooms of children’s hospitals around the country. Sponsored by the “Migdalim” real estate company and staffed by Chasei Naomi’s volunteers.

These holiday visits are in addition to the visits Chasdei Naomi volunteers conduct on a regular basis to cheer and comfort the sick children. Join us on one of our visits to see just how much a few smiles and something sweet can transform the day of a sick child.
