The “TIK MALE” Project Kicks Off: Starting the School Year with a Full Bag
The preparations have begun—Chasdei Naomi’s warehouses are filling up with school supplies!
As the new school year approaches, Chasdei Naomi proudly launches the “TIK MALE” (Full Backpack). This heartfelt initiative ensures that every child can start the year on equal footing—with a brand-new backpack, a fully stocked pencil case, and all the essentials for going back to school.
At the organization’s logistics center, staff and volunteers are currently hard at work sorting and packing school supplies for distribution. Each “TIK MALE” kit includes brand-new schoolbags, notebooks (lined and grid), pens, markers, glue, scissors, and other basic educational materials. Everything is packed with love and care, as it is every year, to give children a dignified and empowering back-to-school experience.
School Supplies Are Not a Luxury
For many families, especially those with multiple children, the cost of school supplies is a major burden. All too often, children arrive at school without a proper bag, notebooks, or quality writing tools—leading to feelings of inadequacy and social exclusion.
A full backpack isn’t just about having the right tools for learning—it’s about equality, confidence, and giving children a real opportunity to succeed.
A Personal Mission: The Story of Rabbi Yosef Cohen
For Rabbi Yosef Cohen, founder of Chasdei Naomi, the “TIK MALE” project is more than a seasonal initiative—it’s a deeply personal mission. Growing up in poverty himself, Rabbi Cohen vividly recalls heading to school with nothing but a plastic bag. The feeling of lack and helplessness left a deep mark on him, fueling his commitment to ensuring no child has to feel the same.
Tens of Thousands of Backpacks, Countless Smiles
Since the project began, Chasdei Naomi has distributed tens of thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies to children from underprivileged families. The feedback from parents, educators, and students has been overwhelmingly moving. Students who started the school year with everything they needed felt confident and motivated—just like their peers.
Chasdei Naomi’s staff has heard countless stories from children who said their new backpacks changed the course of their school yea
Be Part of a Child’s New Beginning
The “TIK MALE” project is Rabbi Cohen’s way of ensuring that no child in Israel experiences the shame he once did—and that every student can start the year with pride and dignity.
Behind every backpack is a child with bright eyes, a mother breathing a sigh of relief, and a family beginning the year with hope. Your support of this project can be the difference between a child walking into class with their head held high—or one trying to hide what they don’t have.
Together, we can wrap these children in love and give them an equal start.
