Peak of Giving at Chasdei Naomi Association Leading Up to Shavuot

Hundreds of volunteers, dozens of distribution centers, and thousands of food baskets – all for a joyous holiday for every family.

Leading up to shavuot, the Chasdei Naomi Association is in the midst of an extensive packaging and distribution project. The goal is to ensure that even those who cannot afford it will enjoy a rich and dignified Shavuot holiday meal.

Hundreds of Volunteers Rally for Packaging and Distribution Activities

As Shavuot approaches, the Chasdei Naomi Association is in the thick of extensive activity at its packaging and distribution branches throughout the country. hundreds of volunteers from across the spectrum of Israeli society are taking part in this important logistical operation – packaging dairy products for food baskets and distributing them to struggling families, holocaust survivors, and elderly people who cannot afford them. The activity is carried out in a spirit of volunteerism and giving, with a clear purpose: that no family should be left without a dignified holiday table.

Among the volunteers who took part in this important activity were officers from the Tel Aviv South Police Station, a group of volunteers who came specially from Chile as part of the Taglit project, employees from “Netivei Israel” company, and other individuals who came from all over the country. The volunteers work together in cooperation and dedication – filling baskets with dairy products, baked goods, dry goods, and more.

Moving Collaboration with Elderly and Holocaust Survivors

Alongside the packaging, another unique activity took place at assisted living facilities in Tel Aviv: elderly residents and Holocaust survivors participated in a moving initiative of weaving flower wreaths for homebound individuals. The wreaths were delivered together with the food baskets to brighten the hearts of those who cannot celebrate the holiday outside their homes.

Distribution Points Throughout the Country and Home Deliveries

The food baskets are transferred to the association’s distribution branches, scattered throughout the country. In addition to distribution points, volunteers set out independently to deliver baskets directly to the homes of those in need, to those who are homebound and cannot go out. The association is working intensively these days to ensure that every food basket reaches its destination on time.

Centralized Distributions for Elderly and Holocaust Survivors

As part of the shavuot project, centralized distribution was also held for elderly people and holocaust survivors who need food baskets in honor of the holiday. The centralized distributions are done with the understanding that elderly people and Holocaust survivors have difficulty with long journeys and food baskets are heavy for them. Therefore, the association’s team comes to centralized distributions near their homes.

Thanks to the extensive support for the association’s activities and donations, Chasdei Naomi succeeds in bringing joy to thousands of families and individuals for Shavuot. So that we can continue to provide assistance to more and more people whose means are limited. In order for Chasdei Naomi to help as many as possible, join the circle of giving now and donate to Shavuot food baskets – your donation is part of a Shavuot basket.
