“HALACHA VERDICT, THE JEWISH LAW, REGARDING “GIFTS TO THE POOR

THE GREAT RABBINIC HALACHA AUTHORITIES SHLITA HAVE ISSUED A SPECIAL VERDICT TO THE ALMS COLLECTOR OF “THE HASDEI NAOMI” ORGANIZATION: A SPECIAL VARIANT OF THE “PROPERTY ACT” BY WHICH THE MONEY FROM THE “GIFTS TO THE POOR”, TRANSFERRED ON THE SAME DAY WILL BRING THE DUE MERIT.

In answer to the question asked by the ALMS COLLECTOR of “THE HASDEI NAOMI” CHARITY ORGANIZATION, the GREAT RABBINIC HALACHA AUTHORITIES SHLITA gave a special variant of the “PROPERTY ACT” in order to bring due merit to the sums of money for the “GIFTS TO THE POOR”, which are collected around the country and at the credit centers. These will be transferred to the poor during the days of Purim in the unwalled cities and in the walled cities as ordained by the Mishnah.

During the last 28 years, “THE HASDEI NAOMI” CHARITY ORGANIZATION together with the ALMS COLLECTOR is working all around the country on the “GIFTS TO THE POOR” distribution campaign to thousands of needy families crying out for help. For the last few years, after having expanded the hub centers and the credit

centers activities, the ALMS COLLECTOR have approached THE GREAT RABBINIC HALACHA AUTHORITIES SHLITA with the aim of enlarging this way of donations with zealous fulfillment. The donations are collected in the most efficient manner to start with, in accordance with the “PROPERTY ACT”, as instructed by all HALACHA AUTHORITIES, and the sums of moneys are transferred that very day in an amount “worthy” of each poor.

After long discussions around the issue of the “PROPERTY ACT”, the GREAT RABBINIC HALACHA AUTHORITIES SHLITA have recommended a special variant of the act, which must be said clearly by each ALMS COLLECTOR before remitting the sums of moneys to the poor, as follows:
“We hereby bring due merit to all those, whose moneys have been collected here, “GIFTS TO THE POOR”, and distributed to as many poor people as possible. And the amount given to each and every one of those poor people will be not less than the accepted ratio of “GIFTS TO THE POOR”, which will be transmitted to them until sunset.”

Besides this special variant, they have instructed as to how the “PROPERTY ACT” would be efficient to start with, in order to bring due merit to the hundreds of donors and the great many contributors. During the very days of Purim in the unwalled cities as well as in the walled cities, the money from donations is collected through the credit centers. At the same time, “THE HASDEI NAOMI” ORGANIZATION has before the donors taken the commitment to distribute the total amount of money, which has arrived and will arrive to the collection hub centers from all around the country until the Halachic sunset hour.

THE GREAT TORAH SCHOLARS and RABBINIC HALACHA AUTHORITIES SHLITA have given their consent to the extensive alms activities of the “GIFTS TO THE POOR” hub centers operated by “THE HASDEI NAOMI” ORGANIZATION. They have underlined that this form of donations, which include all the day-of-Purim-feast-needs to orphans, widows and bread-hungry families, should bear the same ruling as donations with most zealous fulfillment of “GIFTS TO THE POOR”, as appearing in the SHULHAN ARUKH and in the RABBINICAL RESPONSA of the HALACHA AUTHORITIES.

During these last few days, “THE HASDEI NAOMI” CHARITY ORGANIZATION has completed its deployment and operation of its credit centers for a full 24 hours per day, in order to keep the important Purim Mitzvah of “GIFTS TO THE POOR” with zealous fulfillment.
