Sukkot is a time of joy, family, and togetherness.
We leave the comfort of our homes and gather in our sukkahs, sharing meals, welcoming guests, and celebrating the holiday surrounded by the people we love.
But for families struggling to make ends meet, the holiday can bring a very different kind of worry.
How will we afford enough food for the holiday?
This Sukkot, Chasdei Naomi is continuing our “A Good Year – A Year of Full Tables” campaign, distributing food packages to families in need, elderly individuals, and Holocaust survivors across Israel.
BEHIND EVERY PACKAGE IS A PERSON
An elderly person carefully counting every shekel.
A Holocaust survivor who may have to choose between buying food and paying for essential medicine.
A family trying to make sure their children can experience the happiness and traditions of the holiday, despite financial hardship.
These are people who should be able to sit in a sukkah and enjoy a festive meal without worrying about what they will eat tomorrow.
Our goal is to help make that possible.
A FOOD PACKAGE CAN BRING MORE THAN FOOD
When we think about Sukkot, we think about the joy of sitting in the sukkah, sharing a meal, and welcoming others inside.
For someone in need, having enough food for the holiday can bring that same sense of warmth and dignity.
A food package can mean one less worry.
It can mean being able to prepare a proper holiday meal.
It can mean sitting in the sukkah with family and celebrating the holiday instead of thinking about the next grocery bill.
Through the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, Chasdei Naomi is continuing to prepare and distribute food packages to those who need them most.
