While families across Israel are preparing their holiday tables, buying the last ingredients, and getting ready to welcome the New Year, there are families, the elderly, and Holocaust survivors who are still worrying about something much more basic: Will there be enough food for the holiday?
At Chasdei Naomi, we are working right up until the last moment to make sure the answer is yes.
We are in the midst of a major nationwide operation, preparing and distributing thousands of food packages across Israel for Rosh Hashanah and the Tishrei holidays. These packages are being delivered to families, the elderly, and Holocaust survivors who are facing financial hardship, helping them celebrate the New Year with food on the table and dignity in their homes.
Every day, dozens of volunteers have been coming to the Chasdei Naomi logistics warehouse in Tel Aviv. They come from different backgrounds, professions, and communities, and even countries but they are all united by one goal: to help someone who needs it.
Over the past few weeks, we have had the privilege of welcoming and working alongside:
🔹 Employees of Assuta Hospital
🔹 Employees of the Tel Aviv Municipality
🔹 Taglit volunteer groups from France, Argentina, the former Soviet Union, and beyond
🔹 Yassam IDF Brigade fighters
🔹 Israeli police officers
🔹 Home Front Command soldiers
🔹 Border Police officers
🔹 Students from a Tel Aviv high school
🔹 Leumit Health Services management
🔹 Employees of the Bank of Israel
And many, many more.
Together, these volunteers have helped prepare thousands of packages that will reach people throughout Israel.
For most of us, the holiday table is something we may take for granted.
For a family struggling financially, it can be a source of stress.
For an elderly Holocaust survivor living alone, the holiday can be a painful reminder of how difficult life has become.
A food package may seem simple, but to someone who needs it, it can make the difference between facing the holiday with worry and sitting down to a meal with dignity.
And even now, with Rosh Hashanah just one day away, your help can still make a difference.
Help Us Reach Someone Before the Holiday
We are continuing to prepare and distribute food packages, and every donation helps us reach more people in need.
