When the huge hearts of the Shalva students met our warriors
On the occasion of Good Deeds Day celebrated in Jerusalem, the Hasdei Naomi Association held an exciting activity filled with light, in collaboration with students from the Shalva Association.
Shalva is an Israeli Israeli non profit organization that supports people with disabilities and their families, from childhood to adulthood.
The organization provides treatments, integrated education, social activities, professional training and support for families, with the aim of promoting social integration and independence for people with disabilities in Israel.
Together, with a lot of love and a sense of mission, they packed boxes of sweets and treats for Border Guard soldiers.
The one who stood at the center of the activity was sweet Avraham Zimbalist, a Shalva student whose brother, the late Eliyahu Moshe Zimbalist, a fighter in the 601st Battalion of the Combat Engineering Corps, fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip on the 9th of Sivan 5774, when he was only 21 years old.
In memory of the late Eliyahu Moshe Zimbalist
Since this week is the day of remembrance for his fall, we chose to dedicate the activity to his memory and in memory of his soul, out of a desire to continue the spirit of giving, unity and love for the people of Israel that he represented in his life.
The photos you see here say it all.
The amazing Shalva students sat, invested and wholeheartedly packed bags full of snacks and treats.
That same day, the charming Border Guard soldiers arrived to collect the packages, and were moved to tears by the warmth, investment and love felt in each and every bag.
This is just a small taste of the work that the Hasdei Naomi Association does throughout the year for IDF soldiers, the elderly, Holocaust survivors and needy families across the country.
May the memory of the late Eliyahu Moshe Zimbalist be blessed. 🎗️
