Lately, the prices of tomatoes have been soaring high and have not left the representatives of “The Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization indifferent. Everything you should know about tomato charity or if you prefer doing the very first act of benevolence with tomatoes.
Lately, the prices of tomatoes have been going up and up and they have become more and more expensive by the day, a fact that has shocked everyone. At the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization, this problem has been felt deeply, when on the one hand, the donations of tomatoes have stopped almost totally, and on the other hand families have been requesting and pressing to receive some tomatoes.
Rabbi Yossef Cohen the Chairman of “The Hasdei Naomi” Organization has assembled this week the Organization operatives and asked them as this moment duty, to “stop the general contribution campaign and to have everybody concentrate on the mobilization of all donations towards the reception of tomatoes, because this is a basic product for each family and at this time of dearness, a great number of families simply cannot buy tomatoes”.
The Organization operatives took at heart this operation and within a few days more than 2 tons of tomatoes were distributed!
The needy families, so very happy to receive the valued tomatoes, thanked and blessed “The Hasdei
Naomi” Organization for its generous initiative, whilst saying in the mood of these times: “Mom, you promised us tomatoes for Shabbath!”
It should be noted that the “Hasdei Naomi” Organization distribute every month more than 300 tons of fruit and vegetables, besides dry food products [like sugar, flour, etc] and other products from the cold rooms. All these are distributed at 40 food distribution centers all around the country. The Organization activities take place owing to the privilege of being helped by 4000 volunteers, men and women, from of all ranks of the public at large, who, every day of the year, are fulfilling their task with utmost devotion.
