Mr. Assaf Ofer, VP of Marketing at the Pelephone Company gave cash donations for the first 1000 Purim gifts distributed to the needy towards Purim by the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization
During an impressive and special event, in the presence of Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita, the Chief Rabbi of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa and the former Chief Rabbi of Israel, Mr. Assaf Ofer, VP of Marketing at the Pelephone Company, gave to Rabbi Yossef Cohen, Chairman of the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization, cash donations for the first 1000 Purim gifts, which will be distributed to the needy by the Charity Organization as part of its activities towards Purim.
It should be noted that the Pelephone Company activity for the community through the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization, is no longer a new thing.
About a year ago the Pelephone Company led a unique venture with three leading charitable organizations in the sector (including the “Hasdei Naomi” Organization). Within its frame, for each new device purchased or upgraded, the buyer would choose, to which organization the Pelephone Company would contribute. The operation was a great success and hundreds of thousands of shekels were transferred to those organizations as part of the Pelephone Company contribution.
Assaf Ofer, VP of Marketing at the Pelephone Company, said during the meeting: “Pelephone’s involvement in the Haredi sector touches many areas including the employment of hundreds of Orthodox women, unique moves of support and contribution to the community and specifically dedicated operations for this sector. This contribution, as well as previous moves made by the Pelephone Company, is Pelephone’s way of realizing its commitment to be part of charitable activities and charity in the haredi sector.”
The Chief Rabbi of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita said: “Purim gifts to the needy are a combination of two Mitzvoth of the Jewish holiday of Purim – Purim gifts and donations to the poor. This is a particularly moving tribute, a company, which has decided to donate 1000 Purim gifts to the needy, is worthy of our admiration.”
Rabbi Yossef Cohen, Chairman of the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization expressed with warm and moving words: “Our gratitude and appreciation to the Pelephone Company for its impressive enlistment. It is the second time this year that the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization has had the privilege to cooperate with the Pelephone Company, and thanks to this contribution a thousand more families will be able to enjoy a happier Purim.”
