Our own soul yearns to be useful and to do good deeds, especially with the most important charity, the one we must do to show our respect to our dear departed.
Our dearest, the apple of our eyes, Rabbi YEHUDA FATIYAH in his book “MINCHAS YEHUDA” writes in these pure and specific words as follows :
“If it is the wish of the heir to bring appeasement to the dead, to deliver and save him from the hollow of the sling [torture of the soul after death] and from the divine judgment of Hell, to which the dead has been sentenced for sure, There is absolutely no other way but for the heir to pray and pour out his heart to G-d Almighty, King of the World in favor of this dead person. And ten qualified men, with sound knowledge of the Torah and
Talmud, will assemble and will organize for this dead person the prayers known as “SEDER TIKUN”, which we have written.”
