On Monday, four days before Shavuot, volunteers from the Hasdei Naomi Association, accompanied by pastry chef Ayala, arrived at the Misgav Lakshish Club in Jerusalem, with the aim of holding a special festive activity in honor of Shavuot.
The activity was attended by about 60 elderly women and Holocaust survivors from all over the city of Jerusalem, who enjoyed a warm, family-like atmosphere full of joy ahead of the holiday. As part of the event, a festive baking workshop was held, during which the participants, together with the pastry chef, prepared a luxurious cheesecake in honor of Shavuot.
The Hasdei Naomi Association notes that throughout the year there is a deep familiarity and personal connection between the association’s volunteers and the elderly and Holocaust survivors, and therefore it was especially important to hold this festive activity in the days leading up to the holiday. The association accompanies the elderly and Holocaust survivors on an ongoing basis, both in dealing with loneliness and in assisting with various daily needs. At the end of the activity, Chen, a volunteer from the association, distributed rich dairy baskets filled with all sorts of goodies in honor of Shavuot, including a variety of dairy products and festive necessities, with the aim of giving the participants a sense of true holiday and joy.
The participants excitedly thanked the volunteers for their attention, warmth, and investment, and noted that the activity gave them a sense of family and great light ahead of Shavuot.
