Summary of the Tishrei Holidays
The month of Elul at Chasdei Naomi was once again marked by continuous activity for the benefit of the elderly, Holocaust survivors, needy families, and the families of reservists.
From the preparations for Rosh Hashanah to the final moments before Sukkot, Chasdei Naomi’s staff and volunteers worked around the clock to ensure that every family in Israel could celebrate the holidays with dignity and joy.
Rosh Hashanah – Food Packages, Hot Meals, and Thousands of Families Celebrating with Dignity
As Elul began, Chasdei Naomi launched its “A Good Year” campaign for the High Holidays.
The organization’s warehouses were filled with products, and in the weeks leading up to the holiday, volunteers from across the country packed thousands of festive food baskets.
Each package included basic food items along with honey, date cookies, dates, grape juice, and other traditional holiday treats.
Among the many volunteers who came to help were police officers from the Givatayim station, employees of the Israel Crafts and Industry Association, Netivei Israel, and Assuta Hashalom Hospital – all acting out of a sense of mission and a deep desire to ensure that, once again, no family is left behind.

Many volunteers also assisted in delivering food packages directly to the homes of elderly people confined to their houses, people with disabilities, and others unable to leave their homes. Among them was a police officer from the Ramat Gan Police Department, who joined the moving food delivery initiative across the city on his own initiative.
In addition to food packaging and distribution, a special project was held to provide hot, nutritious meals to Holocaust survivors and elderly individuals, in collaboration with the Mal(ACHIM) organization.
The meals, prepared by Mizrahi Restaurant catering, included a main dish of fish, chicken, or meat, rice, baked vegetables, and a variety of salads. Each meal also included symbols of the holiday — honey, grape juice, and pomegranate — to ensure a full and respectful holiday dinner. The meals were distributed just before Rosh Hashanah Eve so that every Holocaust survivor and elderly person could sit at a festive and dignified holiday table.
Sukkot – Building Sukkahs and Distributing the Four Species
Immediately after Rosh Hashanah, the organization continued its intensive activity with preparations for the Sukkot holiday. Chasdei Naomi continued distributing food packages and expanded its annual initiative to build sukkahs for elderly people and those with disabilities. The organization also offered help in building sukkahs for the wives of reservists whose husbands were away serving. Hundreds of volunteers across the country joined the effort, building sukkahs and ensuring that every family could celebrate the holiday properly.
In Zichron Yaakov, a moving community initiative took place: residents of Malchei Yisrael Street purchased supplies and packed 45 festive food packages for Chasdei Naomi recipients. The activity was coordinated by resident Shoshana Weitzenblut, together with Avi Gohar, manager of the Tiberias branch, who assisted and oversaw the distribution
At the same time, Chasdei Naomi distributed hundreds of beautiful sets of the Four Species (Lulav, Etrog, Hadas, and Arava) in collaboration with the Chesed Ve’Emet organization.
The sets were given to individuals who could not afford to purchase them on their own.
The distribution continued until the very last moments before the holiday began, ensuring that every Jew could fulfill the mitzvah of Sukkot.
Border Police soldiers also joined the effort — arriving at the Chasdei Naomi branch in Jerusalem, collecting food packages and Four Species sets, and personally delivering them to the homes of homebound elderly people and Holocaust survivors.
Tishrei at Chasdei Naomi – Kindness, Partnership, and Hope
The months of Elul and Tishrei at Chasdei Naomi were filled with action and giving for the people of Israel. From packaging and distributing food baskets, to building sukkahs and distributing the Four Species, the organization continued to operate out of a deep belief and sincere desire to allow every person in Israel to celebrate the holidays with joy and dignity.
Thanks to the tens of thousands of volunteers, partners, and donors who stand beside Chasdei Naomi, the organization was once again able to help thousands of families, elderly people, and Holocaust survivors begin the new year with warmth, support, and hope.
