A SPECIAL VOLUNTEER INITIATIVE AHEAD OF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR
Ahead of the new school year, an inspiring volunteer initiative took place at the offices of Israel’s Channel 14, in partnership with Chasdei Naomi. Channel 14 employees came together to support children from low income families who receive assistance from the organization.
During the initiative, employees stepped away from their daily routines and dedicated their time and energy to an important cause, packing backpacks filled with school supplies that will be distributed to children ahead of the start of the school year.
The initiative was about much more than simply packing school supplies. It was an opportunity to pause for a moment, think about children for whom going back to school is not always an easy or exciting experience, and remind them that they are not alone.
BEHIND EVERY BACKPACK IS A CHILD
For most of us, buying a backpack, notebooks, writing supplies, and other school essentials is simply part of preparing for the new school year.
But for families facing financial hardship, even the most basic expenses can become a heavy burden.
For some parents, purchasing school supplies means choosing between their children’s needs and other essential household expenses. At times, they simply cannot afford everything their children need to start the school year.
That is why a packed backpack waiting for a child is about so much more than a bag filled with notebooks and pencils.
It gives a child the opportunity to walk into school equipped just like their classmates, ready to participate, learn, and feel like they belong.
WORKING TOGETHER TOWARD ONE GOAL
During the initiative, Channel 14 employees took part in every step of preparing the backpacks. They sorted the supplies, organized them inside the backpacks, and prepared them for distribution to families in need.
The atmosphere was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine spirit of giving. In a short time, the school supplies laid out on the tables were transformed into fully packed backpacks, each one destined for a child who needs it.
The shared volunteer effort once again demonstrated the power of a community when people choose to give even a small amount of their time to help others.
Every hand that helped pack a backpack, every notebook placed inside, and every pencil put in its place became part of a chain of giving that will ultimately reach the home of a family in need.
CHASDEI NAOMI: CONTINUING TO CARE ABOUT THE LITTLE THINGS
At Chasdei Naomi, we work throughout the year to support families in need and people facing difficult circumstances.
We believe that true support goes beyond meeting the most basic needs. It should help people and children live with dignity and feel that they are valued members of their community.
The back to school season is a perfect example.
No child should start the school year feeling different from their classmates simply because their family is struggling financially. Every child should walk into the classroom with a fully equipped backpack on their back and a smile on their face and, most importantly, with the feeling that they, too, can dream, learn, and succeed.
GIVING THAT CREATES REAL CHANGE
The joint initiative with Channel 14 employees is a beautiful example of what can be achieved when organizations, companies, and individuals come together around a shared goal.
Every backpack that is distributed carries a message of care. It tells a child that someone thought of them, invested in them, and wanted to make sure they have everything they need to start the school year on the right foot.

Thanks to their collaboration and generous spirit, children from families supported by the organization will be able to begin the school year with new supplies, a sense of confidence, and, most importantly, a smile.
Sometimes, all it takes to change a child’s start to the school year is one backpack, a few school supplies, and a whole lot of heart.
