The “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization warehouse in Bnei Brak was transformed today for a few hours into a mini professional kitchen, when a team of some 10 leading chefs headed by the Chef Saul Ben Aderet and by the General Manager of the Israeli Union of Chefs Mr. Menachem Leon came especially to wrap “Fifteenth of Shvat” kits for the needy families. At the end the Chefs presented some special dishes in honor of the “Fifteenth of Shvat”.
A team of leading chefs voluntarily participated to-day in a special project of wrapping “Fifteenth-of-Shvat” kits for the benefit of needy families. The kits, which include an especially designed case of assorted dried fruits, a bottle of wine, olives and other various snacks, are being distributed these days by the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization to the needy families all around the country.
The Chef Saul Ben Aderet said that many years ago, when he appeared on TV for the very first time his all body was trembling from excitement. “To-day when I came here to volunteer, the same excitement and shiver went through my whole body just like the first time in my life during my appearance on TV”.
After the task of wrapping and packing, the Chefs presented an assortment of special dishes in honorof the “Fifteenth of Shvat”:
Chef Avi Melamed presented a braised eggplant byaldi salad on a bed of green leaves and green tahini; Chef Ido Meissner surprised with an intermediate especially tasty dish; Chef Raphael Saar (winner of the Kitchen Program) presented a juicy sea bass steak prepared with dried fruits and coconut milk; the main dish was prepared by the Chef Guy Ben Yishai: salmon with a ratatouille of dried fruits. The desserts were placed under the direction of the Pastry Chef Liran Groda, the Chef Doron Vodka, the Chef Ofer Noyman, the Chef Mickey Souissa and Ms. Irit Bornstein, who together presented an assortment of sweet and succulent dishes in honor of the “Fifteenth of Shvat”.
The Chefs, who came on a fully voluntary basis in order to help the Organization volunteers, immediately expressed their wish to come again and volunteer in helping with packaging and also in giving special professional tips to the families supported by the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization. They added: May we, who are busy preparing meals from the most natural ingredients, always come and volunteer in the field of food products.
The “Hasdei Naomi” Organization gives support to more than 10,000 needy families from all around the country, through 40 food distribution centers, which are operated by 20,000 volunteers men and women from every walks of the Israeli public.
