“I have visited many places that help the needy. I have not yet met with such an empire of charity.” So said Daniel Hershkowitz, the Minister of Science and Technology, Rabbi and Professor of Mathematics, Chairman of the Habayit Hayehudi faction, during a special tour he conducted this week at the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization centers.
A Special introductory tour was organized this week at the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization Help Centers for Daniel Hershkowitz, the Minister of Science and Technology, Rabbi and Professor of Mathematics, Chairman of the Habayit Hayehudi faction.
The tour began by a visit to the Banquet Halls “Armonot Chen” in Bnei Brak, where every night 4 weddings free of charge are held for orphans and at a symbolic price for the underprivileged.
Rabbi Yossef Cohen, Chairman of the “Hasdei Naomi” Charity Organization explained to the Minister Hershkowitz that the halls had been especially built on a high standard level, to give a feeling of equals among equals. “If it would look like Halls for poor people, even the needy would not have their weddings here”.
From there, the tour continued to “Hessed Neto”, a unique complex of the “Hasdei Naomi” Organization, which is used as a regular shop. The orphans receive at the “Shop” all the clothing they need free of charge, while large or needy families can purchase beautiful at cost price with no brokers’ gaps, savings amounting to hundreds and thousands of dollars.
From there the tour went on to the sorting and packing centers. There the Minister Hershkowitz met a group of volunteers working in sorting fruits and vegetables and preparing food boxes for distribution to the needy.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Daniel Hershkowitz, Rabbi and Professor of Mathematics, Chairman of the Habayit Hayehudi faction, concluded is special tour and said: “I have visited many associations engaged in giving. I must say I personally have not met with such an empire of charity: Tens of tons of food, superb Banquet Halls, a fleet of trucks and volunteers. This is a great privilege to be part of this tremendous enterprise.”
